Ellis’ Holiday Reading Picks:
Tools of Titans: The Tactics, Routines, and Habits of Billionaires, Icons and World-Class Performers – Tim Ferriss
Looking to become a billionaire? Well this book has all the tips and tricks you need to get there. Tim Ferris, after interviewing over 200 rich folks has come up with all the traits you need to succeed. In no time you too will be living in a penthouse in New York looking down at the scurrying ants, plotting your next move for global superpower. Oh wait, that’s Donald Trump. I’m sure your plans are much less nefarious.
The One Device – Brian Merchant
The iPhone. Now so iconic that life without the global brand would halt almost every major activity possibly known to man. Let alone your late-night Facebook browsing sessions. This book looks back at the evolution of the product and the economic, social and geopolitical effects it's had on the world.
Peak: Secrets from the New Science of Expertise – Jim Collins
Looking for that much needed motivation to get you out of bed and make your dreams a reality? This book probably won’t give you that. But it will instill in you a grim sense of determination, to grit your teeth and soldier on through the pain. Because at the end of the day, that’s the only way you are going to reach your peak.
The Last Lecture – Randy Pausch
This book is based on the last lecture by Randy Pausch, just before he lost his battle with pancreatic cancer. It highlights the core principles he wanted his children to follow in life, and how they would achieve their goals and dreams. An emotional read, especially when you consider the context behind it. But brilliant for giving you the motivation to really make a change in your life and turn everything around. Because at the end of the day life doesn’t last forever.
The 5 Second Rule – Mel Robbins
Pushing yourself just those extra five seconds can make all the difference. This book will give you all the tools you need to become the best version of yourself. Hugely influential Mel Robbins has spoken at TEDX and has garnered a large following due to the success people have found using her methods.
