If you’re in the business of eCommerce, it’s important to know what's selling well in your sector. With the eCommerce industry growing year-on-year, it’s important for online sellers to update their offers and scale their business based on the demands of what people really want to buy. We’ve been looking at the trending products to sell in 2019 based on the buying behaviour of the last few years, sector by sector. So, keep your eyes peeled for our next post on Tech & Gadgets.
Up first? Clothing.
Whether you’ve heard of the game or not, Fortnite is a cultural phenomenon that has well over 200 million users registered. So, it comes as no surprise that the trend for themed clothing has been growing rapidly since December 2017, peaking at an extraordinary rate this passing Christmas.
Search interest in leopard print has grown rapidly in the past year and has stayed as a consistent point of high interest over the last few months. As well as leopard print, snakeskin has also started to show signs of similar demand. It seems it’s all about the print for 2019.
Activewear, also known as leisurewear, can include anything from traditional sportswear to comfy tops and leggings. As a trend in general, it’s become more fashionable to wear activewear as part of your everyday attire, and that’s reflected in the steady rise of interest for the last few years.
As with most trends, there’s normally a famous celebrity to thank (most likely the Kardashians in this case). Neon fashion is expected to dominate spring/summer catwalks in 2019 and looking from the trend history, it’s more popular than ever before.
The interest in jewellery in general has always stayed at a steady pace when it comes to buyer behaviour, however, what’s interesting to note here is the rise in earrings over necklaces and bracelets. This year is the first for bracelets to take a drop, and earrings to take a rise in interest over the Christmas period.
